Infrastructure plays a critical role in shaping how cities grow, connect and function. In 2018, Pamodzi Consulting Limited reached a historic milestone by designing Malawi’s first modern road interchange at Area 18 in Lilongwe. This project marked a significant step forward in the country’s transport engineering landscape.

Area 18 interchange introduced advanced traffic management principles aimed at improving mobility, reducing congestion and enhancing road safety within one of Lilongwe’s busiest corridors. The project demonstrated how innovative engineering design can respond to increasing urbanisation and rising traffic demands.

Building on this experience, Pamodzi Consulting Limited also designed Malawi’s second interchange at the Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) Roundabout. This project represents another transformative development aimed at enhancing traffic flow around a critical access point serving healthcare facilities, businesses, and residential areas.
